You will take the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections in this specific order on the same day.

The Speaking component may be scheduled separately, depending on local arrangements.

IELTS Academic test

The IELTS Academic test is designed for individuals who plan to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in an English-speaking country.

Listening – 30 minutes
  • Four parts with related questions
  • Includes a range of native-speaker accents
  • All standard varieties of English are accepted in responses.

📌 Paper-based test: An additional 10 minutes is provided to transfer answers to the answer sheet.

Reading – 60 minutes
  • Three long sections with tasks
  • Texts range from descriptive and factual to discursive and analytical
  • May include diagrams, graphs, or illustrations
  • Sources include books, journals, and newspapers
Writing – 60 minutes
  • Two tasks:
    • Task 1: Summarize or describe a table, graph, chart, or diagram (minimum 150 words)
    • Task 2: Write an essay (minimum 250 words)
Speaking – 11–14 minutes
  • Three parts:
    • Short introductory questions
    • Speaking at length on a familiar topic
    • A structured discussion
  • Conducted as a face-to-face interview

IELTS General Training Test

The IELTS General Training test is suitable for individuals who plan to study below degree level, work, or migrate to an English-speaking country.

Reading – 60 minutes
  • Three sections:
    • Section 1: Two or three short factual texts
    • Section 2: Work-related texts
    • Section 3: One longer text on a general topic

    • Task 1: Letter writing (minimum 150 words)
    • Task 2: Essay writing (minimum 250 words)
